Two season’s ago, I decided it was time to change it up a bit with my outdoor decorations. I had a few goals:

  1. I did not want to break the bank
  2. They needed to be relatively easy to install
  3. I wanted a hand in designing them

From Home Depot, I purchased lots of shatterproof ornaments in various sizes and finishes. For impact, I stuck to a limited color palette – the classic gold and silver with green as the accent color. The metallic mesh ribbon that I bought at Michaels was used to make generous sized bows. The ornaments for the hanging pieces are strung together with twine and a bow is fastened on top. The evergreens are a combination of live and artificial.

Spotlights are directed at the front door, the wreath at the peak, and the garland-decorated bannister to illuminate the house. The landscaping is outlined in green lights that are staked in the ground.

All that’s missing is the snow!
