For your harvest table this holiday, indulge your decor with a beautiful centerpiece made up of fall’s lush colors and blooms. Here are a few simple arranging tips from Leona for this elegant centerpiece.

Start with a container

For a twist on your typical vase, check your cupboards for household items that can be used as a vessel. Mason jars and cookie jars, teapots and pitchers are all good choices. In our arrangement we used a simple white pitcher that provides a nice contrast to the fall floral colors.

Pick floral stems based on size, color and texture

We choose the deep colors of fall by using burnt orange, deep red, gold and various shades of green. For maximum interest, vary the size, shape and texture of your choices. Use one or two large blossoms surrounded by a few smaller varieties.

Arrange in varying heights

For a one-sided arrangement, position some tall greens and larger blossoms in the rear. Gradually decrease the height of the stems until you have blossoms just above the rim of the container. For a centerpiece that will be visible from all sides, use the same method of graduating height but place the taller stems in the center and work towards the rim.

Top off with a unique item

You can use something organic like fruit, vegetables or feathers or a seasonal novelty item from a craft store. Keeping with the season and to keep it quick and easy, we used kale and berries in our arrangement.
