“The house sold quickly and I believe your advice and hard work on the staging details really helped make that happen. A very professional and five-star job for sure! I cannot recommend you highly enough to others. It was the first time we’ve staged a house for sale, but it will not be our last. Next time, I’m starting from the day I move in! Can we book you now?” – Joyce, Homeowner

I take pride in having repeat clients. With most businesses if you provide an outstanding product and excellent customer service, you can expect to continue to do business with that customer on a regular basis. But is that the case with a home staging business? How often do people move? There are not too many opportunities to work with the same client over and over again so I am delighted when it does happen.

In 2014, I staged a beautiful 3,000 square foot home (see the photos here) using what she had for furniture, artwork and accessories. With a change in family structure and a strong desire to see the country in an RV, my client sold her home, purged her possessions and traveled for a while. She returned back to her hometown and purchased a small home. We got to work together again when she called me to make some remodeling decisions. Then about 18 months later she decided to sell and called me back to do a staging consultation. She warned me that she had “next to nothing to work with” and did not want the expense of buying or renting furniture. I was confident that I could make it work. After all, home stagers are trained to be resourceful.

The photos below show how we used our creativity and worked with what she had.

No table, no problem! We used a folding table and covered it with a simple white table cloth. Amazing what a difference tidying up and adding a bowl of fresh fruit makes in a space. (photos above)

This long, narrow room was a bit tricky to stage especially because we only had a few random pieces of furniture to work with. We were able to demonstrate to a buyer that this room is multifunctional by creating two separate areas. I was really happy with the cozy corner we created around the wood burning stove. With small bedrooms removing clutter and rearranging furniture did the trick. (photos above and below)
