Bring the outdoors in with this simple, inexpensive, easy to make arrangement. To make this piece you will need:

Large clear glass floor vase

Bunch of small tree branches

4 pounds of sugar

Ribbon

The finished piece is 55 inches at its tallest point and 22 inches at its widest point. It’s ideal for decorating corners. I purchased the 18 inch vase at Michaels on sale for under $20.00. Click here for a 40% off coupon. The tree branches are from the Public Market in Rochester and cost about $10.00. However, based on your landscaping, you may be able to gather them from your own backyard.

Arrange the branches as you would in a floral arrangement with the tallest ones in the back and the shortest ones in front. Tie them together with string before covering the base with sugar. When purchasing the sugar, look for the 5 pound plastic container, which makes for easy pouring. I also purchased the roll of wired ribbon from Michaels. Since it was a holiday color, it was 60% off just before Christmas. The assembly took roughly 15 minutes to make. Use a festive color ribbon for the holidays then change it out for a more neutral color to use the arrangement for the rest of the winter.
