What do you think? Does furnishing and accessorizing help sell a vacant home? Here’s what realtor.com has to say about vacant homes.

“Selling a vacant home can present a different set of challenges than one that is owner occupied. When prospective home buyers view photographs of vacant homes in their internet search it is hard for them to get a sense of room sizes, what the room is used for if it is not labeled, and what is the actual layout of the home.  Also the buyer begins to question why this home is vacant in the first place:

  • Was the owner transferred?
  • Has the home been on the market for so long that they moved anyway?
  • Is there something wrong with the home that it is not selling?
  • Is it overpriced and not selling?

Any number of questions can arise in their minds and their perceived answers are rarely favorable to the seller. Therefore many vacant properties are passed over, never to be seen in person, and have fewer opportunities for a successful sale.”
